Welcome to the careers section of Nordenham Metall GmbH! In this section, we will be providing you with a comprehensive insight into our company. Get to know us as an employer and find out what it like working for Nordenham Metall.

Nordenham Metall GmbH is one of the most important European metal recycling companies focused on lead. We process more than 200,000 tonnes of input materials annually, which are mainly secondary materials in the automotive industry, in zinc extraction or in other areas of lead and zinc processing. Our products are more than 100,000 tonnes of lead, various lead alloys, sulphuric acid, raw silver and other by-products containing valuable metals every year. We are committed to modern technology, health protection and occupational safety. Ensuring we use environmentally friendly and energy-efficient production processes is a top priority for us. We are currently transforming ourselves to become a sustainable polymetallic smelter in order to be even more flexible.

With around 330 employees in a wide range of positions, we are a major employer and a company with a long and proud tradition. With us you will find an employee-oriented and friendly, informal environment. We offer collectively agreed working hours and above-average remuneration.

As a subsidiary of the Glencore Group, one of the largest commodity companies in the world with around 135,000 employees and contractors, we have the power of an international company but have deep roots in the region.

330 employees – 1 goal

We all share the same goal: recycle lead efficiently and produce lead responsibly. We give old lead products a new lease of life and also extract primary lead from valuable ores. In doing so, we ensure the supply of a raw material that advances daily life under the most modern conditions. For example, in the form of car batteries.

SafeWork – Safety at all times

Safety is our top priority: each and every one of our employees must come to work healthy and go home healthy again. That is why Glencore’s SafeWork initiative also applies to us. With SafeWork, we want to bring about sustainable change in the long term and so completely prevent serious injuries or even fatalities in the workplace.

Responsible – for the environment and health

Working with lead is a huge responsibility: we follow strict rules and regulations in order to protect our environment and the health of our fellow human beings as best as possible. We continuously invest in new measures that help improve environmental protection and also implement them conscientiously as a team.
