The profession

Chemical technicians work primarily in the chemical or related industries. They learn to work in a team and process-oriented manner. The range of tasks is very diverse and varied. You control and monitor production, have the huge plants under control and always keep an overview between measuring and control devices, pipelines, belt filter or reaction vessels. The determination of substance constants and substance properties during the process is also part of the job. They ensure that everything runs safely around the clock.

The vocational school is located in Oldenburg. Training as a chemical technician takes 3.5 years. In the case of particularly good performance, the training period can be shortened to 3 years. If you are also motivated after the training and have successfully completed it, we will specifically support you and accompany you in your further career. During your training, you will be paid a gross training salary of approximately €1100.

Requirments

As an apprentice chemical technician we expect you to have good grades in chemistry, physics and mathematics, as well as a Realschule certificate or a very good Hauptschule certificate. We expect an interest in technology and the natural sciences as well as a willingness to do shift work. Teamwork, willingness to learn and motivation are also important.
